As a true Sanctuary, we are not open to the public. Sara's Sanctuary is a private non-profit "animal rescue," not a petting zoo.
Sara's Sanctuary rescues animals that have been injured and abused. Most of the animals that call the Sanctuary their home have been traumatized from former "pet ownership" neglect. They can be unpredictable to the "untrained human" in their living spaces. Because of the time invlolved in our animal care, we arrange for private tours only. Our animals, are our number one priority and their well-being is our primary concern.
Pre-scheduled tours of Sara's Sanctuary are available as a fundraising activity to help support the sanctuary animals.
Tour Days/Times/Details: Tours are available on Saturdays, from July through September.( May & June weather permitting) Each tour is 45 minutes in length, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM.
Tour admission:
Tours are available for a fee of $10 per person, with a minimum of $100.00 donation. All group tours must be prepaid in advance, and there are no refunds. All admission fees collected from tours are used soley for the care and feeding of our animals.
Tour Guidelines: There are absolutely noself-guided tours.Unlike a public zoo, our animals are accessible to visitors. These animals and your saftety are our first concern. We cannot risk our animals emotional needs, or your safety by allowing visitors to tour the property unsupervised.
